A Second Chance for Dogs
Our mission is to rescue street dogs and provide spay-and-neuter care to reduce over population.
Compassion in Action
The Obi Project was inspired by Obi, a rescue dog from Rwanda who found a new life in Canada. Our founder, Kalynn, spent time in South Africa rescuing dogs, assisting with pre and post surgeries in clinic, and educating communities about animal welfare. There, she saw the suffering caused by overpopulation, but also how quickly attitudes could change with compassion and education.
Today, The Obi Project carries that mission forward: tackling the root cause of suffering through spay and neuter programs, veterinary care, and community education – starting in Rwanda, and one day reaching beyond.

Our Mission to Serve
We provide life-saving veterinary care and community education to reduce suffering and overpopulation, with all donations directly supporting dogs in Rwanda.
Our Partner: WAG
We are proud to partner with WAG Rwanda, the very organization that cared for Obi before he came to Canada. WAG is deeply rooted in the community and has years of experience rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing dogs. They not only provide medical care but also strive to educate the public on animal welfare.By working with WAG, we can ensure that every donation directly supports on-the-ground efforts. From sterilizations to vaccinations to life-saving treatment, their team has the expertise and infrastructure to create immediate impact where it’s needed most.
Our partnership is built on trust, transparency, and shared values-together, we’re working to stop the cycle of suffering by addressing overpopulation as its root.
